Young people from five Silesian subregions learn how to build a sustainable future

On June 28 and 30, workshops focused on green and digital competences were held at the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology. The participants were high school students from Rybnik, Gliwice, Bytom, Tarnowskie Góry and Ruda Śląska.

The aim of the event was to help young people better understand the processes related to green and digital transformation and to develop so-called future skills – such as critical thinking, creative problem solving, teamwork, and the ability to use new technologies.

The workshops were diverse and engaging in form. Participants took part in interactive lectures, training games, discussions and practical exercises. They had the opportunity to experiment with VR goggles, work with educational kits for renewable energy production, and explore modern tools supporting cognitive processes.

Special emphasis was placed on shaping pro-environmental attitudes, raising climate awareness, and understanding the role of modern technologies in building a responsible labor market. The program also included real-life case studies on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, analysis of the human impact on climate change, and discussions about Poland’s energy future.
