The first classes of the project to develop competencies in the modern business services sector are behind us

On December 6, 2024, the first classes took place as part of the project entitled “Developing competencies in the Modern Business Services Sector among high school students from the sub-regions: Rybnicki, Gliwice, Bytom, Katowice and Sosnowiec”. The project, which aims to prepare future professionals to work in the Modern Business Services Sector (MBSS) in Silesia, began with classes in Career Counseling, conducted in an online format.

December workshop for 147 students

The project includes group workshops on career counseling. Seven groups, with a total of 147 participants, will take part in four-hour classes conducted remotely. Thanks to this, young people from five different sub-regions of Silesia have a chance to participate in the project without the need to commute, which promotes the accessibility and flexibility of the program.

What will students learn at the workshop?

During the workshop, students will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the NUB sector. They will learn what the MBSS is and its importance for the economy, what the MBSS labor market looks like in Silesia, and what majors are related to this industry, including specific examples of majors offered by the Project Beneficiary – Silesian University of Technology.

In addition, the classes will present examples of tools and technologies used in the MBSS, the expectations of employers and entrepreneurs towards young professionals, as well as educational tools that can help in choosing a further educational and professional path.

“These workshops are not only an opportunity to gain practical knowledge, but, above all, a chance to consciously plan their future. Thanks to the classes, students will gain not only orientation in modern technologies and market trends, but also support in making decisions on further education and careers.” – Anna Domanska emphasizes.

More stops on the path of support

As part of the project, students will benefit from the support of specialists in a very diverse range, but extremely useful and desirable in the current labor market.

Anna Domanska informs us about the further form of support – “On December 28 the last classes of this year will be held. The next groups will join the classes already in the new year. All participants in the project will still benefit from 6 hours of support in green transformation and digital competencies, as well as 12 hours of classes preparing for matriculation in science subjects. In addition, everyone will be able to choose training in one of five key market qualifications.”
