New project inaugurated! The community of the School Complex in Ostrow Lubelski will soon begin the first training courses.
On December 12 at the headquarters of Syntea S.A., the project “Vocational qualifications a success for the School Complex in Ostrow Lubelski” was officially inaugurated.
The meeting was attended by the project’s partners, who together will ensure that the quality of industry education and the growth of professional skills among 80 students and 10 teachers from the Ostrów Lubelski School Complex will be improved.
“We are pleased that today we were able to officially inaugurate the project, which has a chance to have a real impact on the professional development of students and teachers from the School Complex in Ostrow Lubelski. Cooperation with the project’s partners and the involvement of all parties are key elements of success, which will allow us to jointly achieve our goals and create new perspectives for the participants.” – Karolina Dziuba, Project Manager at Syntea S.A., said after the meeting.
Interesting training is the key to effective development
As part of the project’s implementation, comprehensive measures will be taken to support the educational and professional development of students and the improvement of teachers’ qualifications. Students will be able to take advantage of educational and vocational counseling, including individual consultations, as well as participate in classes learning about a given profession organized in cooperation with employers, which will allow them to learn more about the realities of the labor market. Also planned is the school’s cooperation with Lublin University of Technology, focused on developing so-called green competencies, i.e. skills related to environmental protection and sustainable development. Students will have the opportunity to serve internships with employers, which will enable them to gain practical work experience – at least half of the project participants will take part in this form of support.
In addition, students will participate in courses and training tailored to current labor market needs, which will increase their employability, ie:
- computer graphics design,
- website development,
- programming and operation of 3d printing process,
- 3d modeling and scanning,
- CISCO network administrator,
- cash register operation,
- heat pump installer (basic training for students applying for RES installer certification),
- use of manual and mechanical processing methods in the overhaul of a forklift,
- forklift operator.
Teaching staff will expand their competencies
The project will include training dedicated to teachers to improve their professional competence in various areas. Teachers will participate in workshops on innovative coaching methods of work in education, as well as training on the use of information and communication technologies in education. There will also be training to support teachers in working with gifted children and young people, as well as workshops on negotiation. In addition, teachers will be prepared to become certified as renewable energy installers by participating in a training course on installing heat pumps. Also planned is first aid training in accordance with the „Assistant to a student with special educational needs” model, which will enable teachers to respond effectively in emergency situations.
“Our priority was to match the subject matter of the trainings with the real needs of the modern labor market, so that students could more easily find their way on the professional path, and teachers had the opportunity to expand their competencies and more effectively support young people. We are convinced that completing the training courses, crowned with an exam, will open up many new opportunities for participants. The IQS certificate, which will confirm the acquired skills, is not only a document, but, above all, proof of practical preparation for work in a dynamically changing professional environment.” – emphasized Maja Witek, Syntea S.A. project implementation department.
The school in Ostrow Lubelski will also be retrofitted with modern teaching tools and equipment, which will help improve the quality of teaching and better prepare young people for the demands of the modern labor market.
