A new project is starting in Wałcz County! A modern VR lab will be created in schools.
The beginning of September brought great news for the residents of Wałcz County. The project “Improving the quality and accessibility of vocational education in secondary schools along with equipping labs in Wałcz County” is now being launched. This important initiative aims to raise the quality of teaching, develop the skills of students and teachers, and better prepare young people for the demands of the labor market. Thanks to the project, education in the region will gain a modern character, and schools will be better able to meet the needs of local businesses.
A modern VR lab
As part of the project, selected classrooms will be transformed into modern VR labs. Dedicated workstations will be created, allowing several people to work simultaneously. This will enable participants to take part in classes together and collaborate in a virtual environment.
The interactive form of learning will let them engage in tasks, make decisions, work in teams, and solve problems in realistic conditions simulated by VR. This teaching method will make classes more dynamic, while the acquired knowledge will be easier to remember and apply in practice.
In addition, project participants will receive micro-credentials confirming their acquired skills and qualifications, which will be a valuable asset on the labor market.
Modern teaching solutions and practical experience
Four secondary schools from the region will take part in the project: the Vocational School (Stage I), Technical School No. 1 and Technical School No. 2 operating within the County Center for Vocational and Continuing Education in Wałcz, as well as the Technical School of the School Complex No. 4 Agricultural Center for Continuing Education. In total, the project will cover 400 students and 40 teachers, who will be able to benefit from extensive support.
One of the key elements of the project is the introduction of innovative teaching methods. Students and teachers will prepare to obtain qualifications listed in the Integrated Qualifications Register, using modern tools such as micro-credentials, virtual reality technology, and gamification, which will make learning more attractive through interactive tasks and game elements.
The project also focuses on developing practical skills. Participants will take part in training sessions, workshops, and educational and career counseling to help them plan their future career paths. Student internships organized in cooperation with local employers will also play a crucial role. At least 70% of students will take part, gaining their first professional experience and getting a closer look at the realities of working in selected industries.
We are pleased that together with Wałcz County we can implement a project aligned with the ITI Strategy of the Wałcz Functional Area, which fits into the activities of the “Strategic Management Cooperation Network of Municipalities for the Comprehensive Development of Wałcz County.” Thanks to this initiative, we will contribute to the further development of vocational education in the region.
The project will run until the end of July 2028.
